       ■  PISTOL SHRIMP OR ALPHEIDAE ■ Alpheidae  is a  family  of  caridean   snapping shrimp  . Kingdom:-Animalia Phylum:-Arthropoda Subphylum:-Crustacea Class:-Malacostraca Order:-Decapoda Infraorder:-Caridea Superfamily:-Alpheoidea Family:- Alpheidae The family is diverse and worldwide in distribution. The snapping shrimp grows to only 3–5 cm  long. Some pistol shrimp species share burrows with  goby fishes  in a mutualistic  symbiotic relationship .
