Alpheidae is a family of caridean snapping shrimp .

Family:-Alpheidae

 The family is diverse and worldwide in distribution.

 The snapping shrimp grows to only 3–5 cm  long.

 Some pistol shrimp species share burrows with goby fishes in a mutualistic symbiotic relationship.

 More than 620 species are currently recognised in the family Alpheidae.
